Description
Oil slicks appear in the Gulf of Mexico in May 2010 after the explosion aboard an oil rig that led to the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, the largest marine oil spill in history. The spill severely hurt the local fishing industry and oil continued to wash ashore in Louisiana and other Gulf states for several years after the initial spill occurred.
